PÖFF

Yay! PÖFF is starting, am at the same time happy and miserable: I want to see all Chinese, Japanese and Korean movies but there are so many of them and an Iranian movie sounds interesting but I doubt that I will ever squeeze enough money out of both mother and polli. P.K. said that he might work there for a while so he could sneak me in, but it would be damn embarrassing if I kept popping up every day, he could get fired an all. Hmm... life is full of difficult choices.

Zero no Tsukaima

Overall: 3
Average Boy-meets-Girl story. The art doesn't help on account of there being very little. Story is kinda weak as well.
The style is exactly the kind I dislike: all round and shiny.
The actual story: Girl lives in magical world, which has all to many HP references. Can't do anything, how original, then summons Boy into her reality and they happily fall in love for no actual reason apart from hating the sight of each other.

Ayakashi

Overall score: 7
Bad side: since the arcs were all done by different people then the animation style and the animation itself weren't always what you'd hope them to be.
Good side:
  • the stories had nothing to do with each other so every time you had the nice feeling of anticipation because you had no idea what's going to happen.
  • They different styles were rather refreshing
  • The opening song is bloody addictive and the opening was redrawn for each arc so that all-an-all it would be the same but the elements in it would be ones that had something to do with the current arc.
Advice: Skip the Goddess in the Dark Tower and just go for the other two. Also get yourself the opening song and go insane happily. Although the Bake Neko arc does lose to the actual Mononoke it is still nice, even though you can feel that they hadn't really gotten to grips with the style.

Mononoke

watched episodes 1-2 and I love it more than a sea of Ichimoku Rens!
The drawings are breathtaking, the story is creepy, there is only one character that doesn't change and the background sounds are of the kind I'd personally go to bed with.
The art reminds me of somebody gone happy on the Scandinavian folklore, but at the same time it's feudal japan, which is good since Japanese have a weird turn when depicting anything foreign of an era gone by.
I think I'm going to love it more than Jigoku Shoujo, for one thing the main character is colourful, male with a nice sexy voice but still retains all of his creepiness.
The opening is something I would like to be mummified in.
Kiss the world, for we are all bastards!

InuYasha

Finished watching Inuyasha. I know, took me long enough, more than a year and a half, but I still managed it. Wasn't bad. The final episode was rushed, but, oh well. At least they showed my second favourite Sesshoumaru/Kagura scene.
Why won't anyone make OVA's? WHY?! By the end the series started gathering back it's horror momentum that it had lost during the middle and now it's gone. I feel like snuffling my nose into something, exept that I won't since am not that emotional and devoted.
Seperatly, I feel, the previous episode should be mentioned. I have a feeling that it was, in all it's truth, a filler, but that doesn't alter that I'm a Sesshoumauru-junkie and will wag my tail at anything with him in it. So the soppy story of how eebil eebil buddist monks tried to save Rin from youkai and got a cultural shock when she said "no! i will forever follow Sesshomaru-sama, even if it means that he might not notice that in the meantime I've grown old and died since time isn't really the same for humans and tai-youkai"
Want more, but won't get any.

Bleach ep 127

Fear! Orihime wants to fight and yet all tell her that she must be a traditional woman and sit quietly somewhere. Well, not in so many words.
The entire Vizard company is not my cup of tea and the extras that have been introduced during the Baunt saga are waking a homicidal tendency in me. Why can't the writers make away with them? WHY?
The animation was rather nice and the whole Orihime-feeling-of-loneliness was pulled off in, if not marvelous, then at least in a satisfactory manner.

P.S: I still love Yumichika-Ikkaku. They are my sweety-darlings, always have been, always will be.

Oh my great blog, whose fate has been so cruel as to land it into my hands. I have not ignored you out of malice, I have not forgotten you out of hate. My DVD-drive has been taken out of the comp and so now i must wait a while until we buy a new one, I put it in and then take it out and put it in again because it will probably malfunction the first time. Without the DVD-drive I can't download anime, that is to say I CAN, but I don't want to. I only have 3GB left on the hard drive.
In the meantime, I have been reading xxxHOLIC. She story is quite nice, the art is, as expected of Clamp, pretty. The huge amount of Loli'ish girls makes my heart warm, but also makes me wish i had stick-thin legs and Victorian and Edwardian dresses in large amounts.
Have reached volume 10 so, far and am hoping that 11 will be out soon.
Best of luck, Clumsy Dog.
